Murchison Spice Company was established in 2024 by Cheryl Murchison, who had long dreamed of starting her own business. Her vision organically evolved into a brick-and-mortar shop specializing in cooking spices, olive oils, and kitchen accessories. Cheryl’s passion for experimenting in the kitchen and her love for feeding people inspired this venture.
Our Story
Cheryl and Don Murchison’s journey began in their hometown of Houston, Texas, where they married in 2003. Shortly after, Don enlisted in the United States Army, and the couple spent four years in the picturesque Bavarian town of Bamberg, Germany. During this time, they explored various European countries, immersing themselves in the rich culinary traditions of Germany, France, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Austria, and Belgium. These experiences broadened their appreciation for diverse flavors and cuisines.
Upon returning to Houston in 2006, they settled in Tomball, TX, in 2011 with their three daughters. Cheryl’s passion for cooking flourished, and she actively participated in church potlucks, chili cook-offs, and community gatherings, sharing her love for food with friends and neighbors.
